Dr. Falter graduated from Virginia Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 2005 and has been our associate veterinary ever since. Her interests include ultrasonography and surgery. Dr. Falter shares her home with Ben, an Australian Shepherd, and Puffy Cat and Teddy her two cats.
Carlos grew up in Peru, wanting a dog but his mom wouldn't let him have one. Instead he hid in his shed and fed the snails and cockroaches. After a year his mom found out about this activity and throughout the rest of his youth he had seven dogs.
Before moving to the United States in 2004, Carlos went to college and vet school in Peru. He volunteered at the shelter for one year and has worked at a local referral hospital as an ER and critical care technician.
Inga's involvement with Pet Dominion began in late 1998. She moved on from hospital assistant to veterinary technician and finally hospital manager. Inga graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park with a BS in Animal Science. She is also a Registered Veterinary Technician in Maryland. One of her aspirations is to become board certified as a Specialist Technician in Internal Medicine. Inga also enjoys focusing her veterinary interests on balanced anesthesia and pain management in dogs and cats.
Outside of work Inga is equally passionate about horses and owns a Thoroughbred named Duncan who she competes in local events. She loves art and enjoys doing pet portraits such as those in Pet Dominion's reception area. Inga and her husband and daughter share their home with Milo the Rottweiler, Damian the gray tabby, Daemona the little orange tabby princess and social director of the house, and Percy the curious and naughty orange tabby.
Before joining us at Pet Dominion, Pam worked for 13 years as a human medical technologist focusing on hematology. She also owned a cat specialty store, 'For Cat's Sake', for 16 years. Pam has always loved cats and is currently owned by six fabulous felines.
Julia joined the Pet Dominion team in April of 2011. Prior to working at Pet Dominion, Julia gained extensive experience in an emergency medicine setting. She graduated from the University of Maryland with a degree in Animal Science. Her pets include a boxer and two foster kitties. Her special interests include surgery and critical care medicine. Julia is working towards her licensure in veterinary technology. Julia has recently been promoted to the prestigious position of Safety Manager.
Anthoni grew up with all different types of animals because he lived in the country with dogs, cats, goats, chickens, rabbits and cows! He has been working in the veterinary medicine field for the past three years. He's a recent addition to Pet Dominion, but he has previous vet tech experience. He is also in the process of becoming a Certified Veterinary Technician. He lives with two cats of his own.
Kelsey grew up in Maryland. She graduated from Salisbury University with a BA in English and a minor in Biology. During her summer breaks at college she was employed at Medowside Nature Center; where she cared for and worked with the birds of prey, and other wildlife species, housed in the center. After graduating, she received a job at the Montgomery County Humane Society caring for the animals and performing medical duties. Very interested in the medical aspect of animal care she then joined the Pet Dominion staff and is now working toward her goal of becoming a veterinary technician. She currently has two energetic pugs and a snuggly pit bull who maintains order in the face of chaos.
Kim's career at Pet Dominion began in 2002. She has worked as a receptionist as well as a veterinary assistant while going to school. She graduated magna cum laude from UMUC with a BS in Business Administration. Kim became Pet Dominion's Practice Manager in 2008. She is currently working toward her certification in veterinary practice management (CVPM). Kim has a big silly Staffordshire Terrier and a sweet little Shih Tzu that share her home with her and her daughter.
Hilary has been working at Pet Dominion since 2006. Before coming to work with cats and dogs she was working with horses, cows, goats and alpacas at the Large Animal Teaching Hospital at the University of Georgia in Athens, GA. She graduated from UGA with a degree in Journalism. Hilary has been an animal lover her entire life and she, her husband, and their baby boy have two cats, Lexi and Sadie, and a Beagle Mix named Lily.
Growing up in rural Indiana began Nancy's lifelong love of animals. Being part of the Pet Dominion staff gives her the terrific opportunity to continue her passion for pets.
Before joining Pet Dominion in 2009, Jennifer graduated from the University of Vermont in 2007 with a BS in Animal Science. She and her husband currently reside with a ferret, Jack Otter, a Border Collie mix named Svara, a Cardigan Welsh Corgi named Gandalf the Grey and Wolfie, the gray and white cat who reigns over the household trying to keep order.
Jenny joined the Pet Dominion front desk staff in early 2011 shortly after graduating college, and has loved it ever since. She especially enjoys combining her affection for animals with her degree in English from UMBC; it's truly the best of both worlds! In her spare time, she enjoys working with dogs; she has raised and trained potential guide dogs for Guiding Eyes for the Blind, as well as volunteered with greyhound rescue groups across Maryland. She is a certified American Kennel Club Evaluator for the Canine Good Citizen program, and looks forward to administering tests and classes at Pet Dominion this fall. When she's not working, she loves spending time with her own dog, a 4-year old retired racing greyhound named Ferguson.
Patti has been working at Pet Dominion since 2000. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Her two Scottish Terriers, Katie and Meghan, think (in fact, they are) in charge of the household and the family. Prior to becoming a Pet Dominion staff member, she was a Pet Dominion client (and she still is). As a lover of animals, her position at Pet Dominion provides the opportunity to interact with the clients and their pets.
Lisa joined our front office team in October 2005. She enjoys spending time with family and traveling when not hard at work. Lisa and her husband Jim have two furry babies, Daphne and Persephone - gray patch tabby sister kitties who were rescued and nurtured by Dr. Falter. She is both an employee and a happy client.
Chase began his employment at Pet Dominion in 2006 as a part-time lodging technician while seeking his BA at the Univeristy of Maryland, College Park. Since graduating he has moved on to become lodging manager. Chase and his family have happily shared their home with several spaniels over the years. Currently Girlfriend, an English Springer, is keeping them on their toes.
Chris has been with us here at Pet Dominion since 2007 and enjoys working with the lodging pets. He is working toward receiving his certification in pet care. Chris has always lived in this area of Montgomery County and has a twin brother who also works here at Pet Dominion.
Robert has been working in Pet Dominion's lodging accommodations since 2007 and enjoys caring for your pets while you're away. He is working toward becoming a certified Lodging Technician. Although he loves both cats and dogs and has three kitties at home, he is truly a dog person at heart. We are lucky enough to have Robert's twin brother Chris working with us too!
Giovanni has been working at Pet Dominion for the last three years. He has a passion for both dogs and cats.
Jeaneen is a HUGE animal lover! She worked at Pet Dominion from 1998 through 2002 and then came back in 2003 for a little while before signing on full time in July 2009. She has two dogs (a Rottweiler and a Pit Bull), five cats, a cockatiel, two turtles, and a leopard gecko. She loves all animals and makes all pets feel like they're her own when they stay with us.
Hello, my name is is Alexa. I am a biology major at Hood College. I have been working at Pet Dominion for 6 months as a lodging technician. I enjoy playing with the dogs outside and pampering the cats. I have always had a passion for animals since I was 6 years old, and I hope to become a vet tech after college.
Darrell grew up with a family of dogs in Gaithersburg. As a child, he always wanted to be a veterinarian. He has been working at Pet Dominion since March 2011. In addition to his passion for animals, he also loves sports and spending time with his family including his young son. He loves his job because he loves animals.
Ashley started working at Pet Dominion in early Spring 2011. Born and raised in Germantown, she grew up with two dogs (Barney and Oreo) and two hamsters (Midnight and Teddy). In her off time, she enjoys traveling, swimming, shopping and reading. She is a nursing student at Montgomery College and will graduate in 2013. Ashley enjoys playing with cats and dogs, but is truly a dog person.
