Dr. Bassett is pictured with Guinness, his golden retriever. Guinness is the Pet Dominion mascot. Dr. Michael Bassett is the owner and medical director of Pet Dominion. He graduated from Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine and has been in practice for over twenty five years. Dr. Bassett grew up in Ocean City, Maryland with a Chesapeake Bay Retriever as his constant companion. He has since developed a special love for Golden Retrievers, and has shared his life with several extraordinary ones. Currently, Guinness is the resident Golden in the hearts and home of the Bassett family. Dr. Bassett and Guinness jog together every morning before they come to Pet Dominion.  Sometimes, Dr. Bassett also brings his daughter's dog, Bagel, with them. Guinness and Bagel are best friends. Dr. Bassett is pictured with both Guinness and Bagel on the doctor's menu. Dr. Bassett was one of the first veterinarians in the Metropolitan area to replace the traditional scalpel with a surgical laser.  With the laser there is increased precision, less post-surgical pain and a more rapid recovery.  Once again, Dr. Bassett is one of the first to provide a new technology to pets.  This time, it is the Therapy Laser. The many beneficial effects of the Therapy Laser include pain management, wound healing and rehabilitation.
